TradieSync uses AI-assisted tools to process job requests submitted through our chat interface. When you use the chat feature, your messages — which may include personal details such as your name, phone number, and address — are sent to OpenAI (based in the United States) for processing. This allows us to understand your job request and generate a helpful response.
We do not use your messages to train AI models. OpenAI's data handling is governed by their own privacy policy and data processing agreements.
Your contact details are shared with tradies only after they have paid a credit to unlock your job lead. We do not sell your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
We share information with the following categories of trusted service providers who help us operate the platform:
These providers are only given access to the information they need to perform their specific service and are required to handle it securely.
Some of our service providers are based outside New Zealand, including in the United States. When your personal information is transferred offshore, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is protected in a manner consistent with the Privacy Act 2020, including by using providers with appropriate data processing agreements and security standards.
TradieSync does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for their own marketing or commercial use.
We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide the service and comply with any legal obligations. Job listings are automatically removed from active display after 14 days. You may contact us to request deletion of your personal data at any time.
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse, including encrypted data transmission and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If we become aware of a privacy breach that is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner as required by the Privacy Act 2020.
